Staying on top of Health Care Reform
Senate Finance Committee Report
Many of you have read about the Senate Finance Committee report, Financing Policy Options that was released May 20. It outlines many options to fund healthcare reform. The discussion points range from changes in Medicare to modifying the exclusion for employer-provided health coverage. Also:
- Limiting the amount that can be paid on a pre-tax basis and limited tax breaks for taxpayers whose incomes exceed a threshold income level.
- Modifying or repeal of medical flexible spending accounts and health reimbursement arrangements.
- Reducing HSA contribution limits along with additional substantiation requirements for disbursements.
- Removal of Over the Counter meds as a Qualified Medical Expense under cafeteria plans and HSA plans
- Contact members of the Senate Finance Committee and make you opinion heard.
